Cortese is the grape behind the wines of Gavi and are best enjoyed young. Piedmont’s most famous (and finest) white grape, Cortese has produced wines since the 17th Century. The producer, Araldica, is Piemonte's most forward-thinking co-operative. Founded in 1954 by Livio Manera, father of the current Managing Director and winemaker Claudio Manera, they now source their wine from around 690ha of vineyards.
