Vineyards are grown on the plains surround the town of Manzanares in La Mancha where there is a number of varying soil types. These range from deep clay loams with good drainage through to some very stoney soils with a break down of granites, giving quite differing flavour profiles. These offer raspberry and soft cherry spice with some of the smaller bush vine parcels giving an almost cinnamon and black pepper character.
