The best Cortese grapes from some of the older vines are selected at the La Battistina estate. These are typically sourced from the higher vineyards with poor chalky soil - hence 'Bricco' - which refers to the crown of the hill in Piemontese dialect. The wine is then part-fermented in 2nd year barriques (small barrels), and the rest in small tanks.
