When we started Winepost, one of our aims was to make it as sustainable as possible from the beginning. We wanted to build a company that is a net positive to our environment and society. So right from the beginning, we set up our sustainability page to track and explain our progress towards that goal openly and transparently with customers.

Today, we're excited to be taking the next step of that journey and announce that, as of the beginning of August, all the delivery of wine from us to you is now carbon neutral! Through our partnership with Shopify's Offset program, we now automatically carbon offset every single shipment that goes from our warehouse to customers.

Our offsets go towards funding the Jarí Para REDD+ Avoided Unplanned Deforestation project with Pachama. This is a Verified Carbon Standard certified project that will be verified by Pachama using their monitoring technology. The charges go towards protecting the existing forest, improving the biomass through better forest management practices, and verifying the progress of the project. This is just the beginning. We don't yet offset the shipping of wine from producers to our warehouse, and we'd like to work towards all of our wine shipments being naturally carbon neutral, rather than needing to be offset (eg. by finding couriers who use electric vans powered by renewable energy).
